The unboxing!!!

Hi all!
Last Wednesday I received the proof copy of Dawn from the manufacturers. Below are two videos showing me opening it. The first one is me wrestling with the shipping material it came in. That baby could have been air dropped and it would have been fine.
The second video is me opening the box of the game itself and presenting the play mat [which is awesome] and some of the components of the game.
There are few errors in this proof that I'll be reporting back to the manufacturers. I'll also be bringing it to Essen next week to show around to folks. If you're there look me up! I would love to meet you.
I'm aiming to get the game in your hands by Christmas. Send all your most positive energies that fulfillment and manufacturing will run smoothly.

Dawn Update - Manufacturers Proof v1 Complete

Hi all!
The manufacturers of Dawn just sent me video of the first proof game they created last week. It looks great! There are a few alignment issues I want them to fix for proof two. If you don't mind spoilers you can view it here.
If you want to avoid spoilers and have the joy seeing the game for the first time when you unbox it yourself I can give you a brief view of what is in it. It shows the box and the drawer, similar to Darkness, contains several hundred cards in different packs. They fit well! It also shows some of the secretes that have been added in the box.
One step closer! More updates coming soon. I'll let you know when I get the proof sent to me in the United States.

Manufacturing Update

Hi all!
Here's the current manufacturing update. I got the newly formatted rulebook files over the manufacturer last week and they're in the process of checking them over. In the meantime I'm modifying the outside of the back of the box a bit to show some of the card artwork. When I asked the manufacturer what files they still need from me they told me, only image left is for the carry bag. The image is going to be a combination of the Dawn logo and the Green Meadow Games logo.
I'll send out an update when the manufacturer has every last thing they need and are good to go.
Now that I'm working with a new contact over at LongPack they have been much more responsive to emails.
Stay tuned for updates!

Manufacturing Update

Hi all!
Here's the latest update on manufacturing. I was told by a representative from the manufacturer the reason there were so many delays in communication from the was that my point of contact is on his way out the door. Now I have a new point of contact and it's my hope things will move more quickly and smoothly.
The size of the Dawn box has been confirmed (yay!) and now we'll be able to move forward with that. The play-mat is also in good shape with the correct dimensions and artwork. I look forward to getting the sample of that before it goes out to you. I want to make sure it's up to snuff.
What's left to work through is the rule book. The images that I sent over are a bit too big to fit in the box. They were nice enough to give me a new template to work off of and now I'm on to copying over the content of the old book to the new book. This shouldn't take to long and I hope to have it done this week.
From what they're telling me it's just the rulebook that's left and then we'll move on to the proof-copy phase of production. Obligatory *IT'S HAPPENING!!!*
I hope you all are well and enjoyed your day off on the 4th, for those in the U.S. For others overseas, I hope you're great and are enjoying your summers and winters. (except the British. :-) )
Take care!

Weekly Update

Hi All!
I've been waiting a few days to see if I got some more news from the manufacturer and this is what I have to report at them moment. Now that the order for 1500 games has been committed to, LongPack's designers and engineers are figuring out what the width the card boxes should be based on the other game in the set, "Darkness".
It was always the plan to have Dawn, and Darkness be part of a four part series. The idea was to have Darkness representing society living in "the dark" where it's every person for themselves. Dawn, represents people starting to come together to either work collaboratively for the greater good or choosing to still work for themselves. The third and fourth part of the series, "Daylight" and "Dusk" represent pure cooperation on a global scale, and then what you leave behind when your time is done.
Why am I telling you this? Because I want the four boxes of cards to look good on your shelf as a four part set. That means that the manufacturers need to make sure the the height and depth of each box game are consistant. Only the width will vary. In order to do this the manufacturer needs to bring together all the parts of game to figure out what the final width will be. And that's where we're currently at.
I look forward to giving you updates on how things are going with this process next week. Stay tuned!
